LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – Bio Channel announced three new shows at its "upfront" presentation to advertisers Wednesday, including a series hosted by William Shatner.
The former "Star Trek" captain will command a program called "Shatner's Aftermath" that looks at Americans who became overnight household names, such as the Unibomber and Iraq war Private First Class Jessica Lynch.
This marks the second Shatner series on Bio, with "Shatner's Raw Nerve" returning this year.
Bio is also ordering a spin-off of its series "I Survived" titled "I Survived ... Beyond and Back" and centering on people who literally died and then were resuscitated.
Finally, the network is following up on the success of its top-rated "Celebrity Ghost Stories" with "My Ghost Story," on which people recount their paranormal experiences.
Bio, which just completed the two most-watched quarters in the network's history, rebranded from Biography Channel to Bio last year and added the tagline "True Story."
