{alltv} 'Lost': Jimmy Kimmel presents the 'alternate endings'

SKECHERS
(If you're not done watching the "Lost" finale yet, you probably don't want to read the following post.)

Jimmy Kimmel is a big "Lost" fan, so it makes perfect sense that the opening shot of his "Aloha to Lost" special following Sunday's (May 23) finale was of him watching the end of the show with his audience, several of whom were crying.

Kimmel himself seemed a little bit emotionally drained too, but he recovered to host a pretty decent hour of reminiscing, comedy bits and young Jacob.

Yes, young Jacob was there, popping up at least twice (and never commented on) in the background of Kimmel's Island-fied set. (At least we saw him. Does that mean we're candidates?) It was the only running comedy bit in the show, which featured interviews with several long-time cast members -- including Matthew Fox, Terry O'Quinn, Emilie de Ravin, Naveen Andrews, Daniel Dae Kim and Michael Emerson -- and important supporting players including Alan Dale and Jeremy Davies.

Fox was out first, and Kimmel floated this theory on the finale: "My theory is the whole show, beginning to end, was Jack's test. ... Jack passed his test. Maybe each character has their own story and their own test, but the show was Jack's test."

Fox: "I'd agree with that, yeah." Kimmel: "I'm so proud of myself right now."

Fox did add, though, that the beauty of the finale was that it's open to interpretation. "There are also religions that believe when you die, you go a place ... where you have to remember your own death, and all the people who loved you the most and helped you the most and were most important to you," he said. You have to remember all of them leading up to the moment you died in order to move on."

Cast members also shared some of their favorite scenes. Our favorite was Emerson recounting the several food-related scenes Ben had been a part of, including one "where Locke [O'Quinn] brought me food and told me it was rabbit, and I said, 'Did this have a number on it?' That's when I knew I was in a comedy."

Josh Holloway appeared in a taped bit from the set of his new movie (not really), "Snakes on a Plane 2: Electric Boogaloo," featuring Adolfo "Shabba-Doo" Quinones and Michael "Boogaloo Shrimp" Chambers, and Evangeline Lilly showed up in one of the show's "alternate endings," where she wakes up from a dream next to ... Bob Newhart.

Kimmel also showed two other alternate endings, one featuring "Survivor" host Jeff Probst and the other -- our favorite -- an excellent riff on the final scene of "The Sopranos," with Jorge Garcia as Tony, de Ravin as Carmela, Fox as A.J. and Kim as Meadow (parking the Dharma van) and Styx's "Come Sail Away" taking the place of "Don't Stop Believin'."

Which alternate ending do you like best? And what did you think of the rest of the special? (Note: The YouTube video below was briefly public on the "JKL" page before being taken private. It will be public again following the West Coast broadcast of "Aloha to Lost.")
