Teresa Giudice knows how to keep it classy — just don't tell her to pay attention, puh-lease. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star is flipping the tables on the ladies of The Real Housewives of New York by of their show. In this post, Teresa shares her thoughts on running away from — then finally confronting — a problem:
I've been on my book tour for Skinny Italian all week so I have cooking on my mind, and this week the ladies finally went from simmering mad to boiling over. And it's about freakin' time! For weeks –- or years -– they've exchanged little insults and offenses and stored them away. Finally, they are starting to let go of their anger, which is good for their sanity — and fun to watch!
Let's start with Bethenny's dad: We know from past seasons that she doesn't speak to her family. But this season her dad was dying, so she flew out to see him and he turned her away. This week, her dad called her and she flew back to see him before he passed away. Bethenny was sobbing as she left for L.A. — the most upset we've ever seen her. But from what I could tell, it seems like Bethenny did get to share some tender moments with him before he died. Good for her for going. I hope she got some closure there.
We also saw Jill have her biggest breakdown yet. Those two need to make up already! I know they had this "big fight" ("Get a hobby" isn't really a big fight in Jersey, but okay … ), but in my opinion, they are much more miserable as enemies than they could ever possibly have been as friends.
Jill was finally really regretting letting her friendship with Bethenny go. Especially now that Bethenny is pregnant, engaged, and her estranged father died. Jill was heartbroken not to be with her. She admitted that she should have made up with Bethenny earlier, but that she "wasn't in the mood" at the time. She said she thought they might have been able to fix things, but that ruined everything.
A lot of the anger is misplaced. Jill isn't really mad at Alex. She's mad at herself. And Alex's message wasn't really from Bethenny, she was relaying her own message. Poor Ramona, who and was roasted for it, was roasted again by Jill for not telling Jill about Bethenny's father. If I were Ramona, I would have just poured myself another glass of Pinot Grigio and quit trying. (Oh wait, I think she did!)
There's no winning with these girls and their fights because the fights aren't fair and because they run away. When Bethenny tried to confront Jill, Jill ran away. When Jill tried to confront Bethenny, she ran away. This week, when Alex tried to confront Jill, she — yep, ran away. Running away from your problems doesn't work. You've got to confront them head on. (Like you see in the , if you run away from me, I'll run after you!)
Alex didn't run after Jill, but finally, three events later, she did catch up to her. And when she did, it was pretty great to watch. Alex called Jill out for years of not listening and belittling and being mean. During Alex's speech, Jill didn't listen, belittled her and was mean. But Alex did manage to get out one of the best lines of the season: "You are in high school … and while you are in high school, I am in Brooklyn!"
From next week's preview, it looks like the rest of the season, we're finally going to get some steam released as the women boil all over each other. I can't wait!
Baci, Teresa Giudice
