David Arquette first gave up his Lakers tickets, then he gave a little of his time.
The actor, who in April was so moved by a halftime ceremony honoring vets that he handed over his $3,7000-a-seat courtside seats to them, spoke Monday at a Flag Day event for Operation Mend, which provides free plastic surgery to soldiers wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan.
"Hollywood actors play super heroes and larger than life characters," Arquette, 38, told soldiers, family members and hospital staff at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. "But the true heroes of the world are the soldiers who put their lives on the line and the families shouldering the burden of the sacrifice."
