Leonard Nimoy was overwhelmed during a visit to Vulcan, Canada after residents in the STAR TREK-themed town arranged a parade in his honour.
The Star Trek legend was celebrated during his April visit to the region, which shares its name with the home planet of his most famous character Mr. Spock, and has become a popular tourist attraction for fans of the franchise.
Nimoy, who announced his retirement from Hollywood in April, visited the town and even posed next to a bronze statue of his likeness, before watching the locals put on a procession.
And the sci-fi icon admits he was delighted with the small-town tribute.
He says, "I've never had an experience as touching as that in my life. Spock has been a role model for a lot of people by showing dignity, intelligence and professionalism. I'm very proud of that."
