Things were kept brief as usual at the 14th annual Webby Awards at Cipriani Wall Street, hosted by "The Office" star B.J. Novak. Speeches at the so-called "Oscars of the Internet" are kept to five words or fewer, prompting "Person of the Year" winner Roger Ebert to announce, "Veni, vidi, vici." The New Yorker's Web editor, Blake Eskin, captured the mood of the publishing industry in his acceptance speech for "Best Magazine," saying, "Wanna read it all? Subscribe," while "Best Actor" winner Zach Galifianakis joked, "How am I on time?" Web publisher Arianna Huffington quipped, "Goldman Sachs shorted my speech." At the after-party at Hiro Ballroom, Buzz Aldrin, 80, who accepted on behalf of NASA for "Best Government Site," held court in the VIP area with a gaggle of girls, and actually stayed for a performance by Ne-Yo.
