Jane Krakowski was thrilled for her Ally McBeal costar Calista Flockhart when she eloped with Harrison Ford last month. But the 30 Rock actress and singer doesn't see herself pulling the same stunt with fiancé Robert Godley.
"My parents would kill me," the Tony Award winner, 41, told PEOPLE with a laugh at Thursday's launch of her new solo album, The Laziest Gal in Town, in New York.
Not that it was a shock that Flockhart and Ford had gotten married on the sly in a tiny ceremony in New Mexico. "It didn't surprise me," Krakowski says. "I think they're such a great couple."
Krakowski and Godley, a clothing designer, became engaged over the holidays this past winter. But they're in no hurry to sort out the details of the wedding.
"We're very much enjoying being engaged," Krakowski says. "We are still just looking, and we haven't even been looking that hard. ... I see that people got married in the Caribbean and people got married in Italy, and I'm like, 'Well, those all sound good. Maybe we should do that!' "
She has been thinking more specifically about her dress – and is inspired by the famous Christian Dior gown worn by a certain other singer at her 2002 nuptials.
"I loved Gwen Stefani's wedding dress," Krakowski says. "I'd like to pick something that's nontraditional, whether it's short and a mini skirt or a very high-fashion cocktail dress, or that sort of Gwen Stefani version."
