Could "Glee" be bringing us an episode-long Piano Man tribute?
Creator Ryan Murphy told Zap2it in May that a Billy Joel episode "would be great."
When the musician himself was asked if it would sign off on such an episode, Joel tells "Access Hollywood," "I already have ... All I know is I said, 'Yeah, go ahead. Use my stuff.' I was in a chorus when I was in high school. Why not?"
Hmm, we're not sure if that really means there will be a tribute episode (like the mysterious Super Bowl episode) or if he's just allowing "Glee" free rein of his song catalog.
Regardless, if there is a tribute episode, he's not about to pull a Britney Spears and appear on the show.
"No," says Joel, "I'm just not a big TV actor type of guy. I'm a piano player."
Joel's song "Piano Man" was already used in Season 1 in the scene between Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) and Bryan Ryan (Neil Patrick Harris), who won and Emmy for his guest starring appearance.
