LONDON (Hollywood Reporter) – Gordon Ramsay has been sold off -- in a deal that will net the foul-mouthed chef millions.
British production giant All3Media on Friday announced terms of a 40 million pound ($60 million) deal to acquire U.K. independent producer Optomen, which includes One Potato Two Potato -- the 50/50 joint production venture shared by Optomen and Ramsay that is responsible for such shows such as "The F Word" and "Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares."
Under the All3Media umbrella, Ramsay will further look to build his presence in the United States and benefit from bigger distribution and licensing operations.
"I'm very happy to be joining All3Media and look forward to growing One Potato Two Potato in the U.K. and in America," said Ramsay, who has become one of the most recognizable faces of television on both sides of the Atlantic, thanks to such shows as "Hell's Kitchen" and "Masterchef."
"Twenty years of working in kitchens has taught me that success is always a team effort, and with the help of the team at All3Media I'm confident we can take things to the next level and soon reach three potato, four potato and more."
Optomen also produces long-running ITV whodunnnit saga "Midsomer Murders," "Worst Cooks In America" and "Monsters Inside Me."
