Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2010
NBC snagged the biggest total audience on Wednesday night thanks to "America's Got Talent," but FOX earned the best demographic numbers thanks to "MasterChef."
NBC averaged 6.85 million viewers and a 4.2 rating/7 share for the night, narrowly beating CBS (6.5 million, 4.2/7) for the top spot. FOX (5 million, 3.0/5) came in third. ABC finished fourth with 3.7 million viewers and a 2.5/4, a good bit ahead of The CW's 1.4 million viewers and 0.9/2.
FOX's 2.1 rating was good enough to lead the night in the adults 18-49 demo (despite the fact that "Masterchef" didn't win either of its hours). CBS and NBC tied for second at 1.8. ABC drew a 1.1, followed by The CW at 0.5.
