Did Jennifer Lopez demand motion picture and TV pilot deals in addition to a $15 million paycheck from "American Idol"? According to Deadline, yes.
A source tells Deadline, J-Lo "was angling for an overall deal at Fox, including a put picture, to keep the movie career going. But Fox said no." Apparently, Lopez kept threatening to walk and FOX would call her bluff, which is when the rumors of other female judges would end up in the press.
Another source tells Deadline, "In the end, she didn't turn up her nose up at $12 million. I would have been very surprised if she had walked away. She needs the money. She lives very very well. It comes at a cost."
Finally, as for the official announcement from FOX, Deadline says it has been postponed to mid-September to coincide with J-Lo's new single. But US Weekly says the announcement is set for early October. So once again, we think it's probably anybody's guess.
Wow, a $12 million payday for J-Lo as an untested judge? That seems like a big gamble to us. Then again, "Idol" can't really bring in a nobody. It's a sticky situation.
Do you think J-Lo is worth all she was demanding?
