{alltv} 'FCU: Fact Checkers Unit': 10 must-have tools for celebrity fact checking

The guys at NBC's web series, "FCU: Fact Checkers Unit" are no joke (and yet they're hilarious) as they make sure that every fact published in the series' Dictum magazine is proofed and correct.

One day they may be chasing ghosts in "Beverly Hills, 90210's" Luke Perry's house and another day they're chasing down "Friday Night Lights'' star Zach Gilford dressed as a superhero or stalking Jane's Addiction's Dave Navarro. For "FCU," it's all in a day's work.

We asked the series' stars Peter Karinen (who plays Russell) and Brian Sacca (Dylan) what tools of the trade any good celebrity fact checker needs to get the job done.

Here's their list of must-have tools for celebrity fact checking:

10.) A Black ski hat: Stylish, warm, and just the right amount of "creepy."

9.) A change of underwear: This goes for pretty much any situation. Sometimes two spare pairs would even be suggested (roller coaster research, prune juice testing, etc.).

8.) A taser: From wading through paparazzi to temporarily immobilizing a reluctant celebrity, a good quality, reliable taser is a must in any fact checking operation.

7.) Bronzer: Fact: celebrities trust people who look like them. Getting Botox treatment is equally effective but pricier.

6.) A clear and distinct understanding of the Theory of Relativity: How can you understand the basic things in life if you can't understand the most complex? Just throwing that out there.

5.) Groucho Marx glasses: Despite their funny appearance, these novelty glasses are the most effective disguise in any situation because A) no one expects them, and B) celebrities are easily distracted: "Haha, look at those funny glasses! Wait, why am I being tied up and thrown in a trunk?"

4.) Samsung Galaxy S phone: (Editor's note: A not so shameless product plug.) This awesome device will pretty much do anything short of tying up a celebrity and throwing them in your trunk.

3.) The peripheral vision of a shark: If you can check a fact without actually looking at the fact, you are close to becoming a Fact Master. Just throwing that out there. (Fact: Some sharks grow up to 20,000 teeth in their lifetime. Fact #2: We learned that during "Shark Week.")

2.) A magnifying glass: Initially constructed to help you see things bigger, the best use of a magnifying glass is to start a brush fire when trying to escape an angry celebrity.

1.) Your best friend: Stakeouts (we call them "Stalk-outs") aren't much fun by yourself -- you can only listen to so much talk radio.
