For Lady Gaga, 13 could be a lucky number. The chameleonic artist is nominated for a baker's dozen of Moonman trophies at this year's MTV Video Music Awards, including two — for "Bad Romance" and "Telephone" — in the coveted Video of the Year category. In fact, her tally is the most single-year nominations for any artist in VMA history. "Gaga had some of the best videos of the year," says the VMAs' executive producer, Jesse Ignjatovic. "She will be extremely present in the show — and we'll see how many wardrobe changes there are!"
And even with the outrageous Chelsea Handler hosting, the most exciting moment just might come from the inimitable Kanye West, who, after infamously bum-rushing Taylor Swift's acceptance speech last year, returns to the VMA stage. "Kanye will be in the house for a very striking performance. He'll be front and center in a captivating way," Ignjatovic says. And with Swift a nominee again this year, might the odd couple cross paths one more time? Ignjatovic laughs. "There's the chance that they'll be under the same roof, so you never know!"
