After watching Sunday's (Oct. 17) episode of "Brothers & Sisters," be prepared to feel a bit down as Emily VanCamp says goodbye to the show.
We weren't sure how the writers would pull it off. How could they sell their millions of viewers on a storyline that saw Rebecca say goodbye with so much still so unsettled in her life?
And before watching the episode, it felt almost cruel for the producers to let her go after all that we've (and the Walkers) have gone through to accept her into the mix.
The bright side is we don't think you'll be disappointed. The show has definitely pulled it off. Somehow, they've made it so it makes good sense that she leaves. And with all the build up to her exit, that's quite a feat.
We have nothing but praise for Dave Annable (Justin) and Patricia Wettig's (Holly) performances in this episode. And we're absolutely going to miss the easy, effortless talent VanCamp brings to her storylines.
At the same time, Justin and Rebecca aren't the only bumpy romance stories in this episode:
- Some of the family actually gets to meet the man Saul (Ron Rifkin) has been on Cloud 9 over ("No Ordinary Family's" Stephen Collins) when he gets pulled into a tiny family emergency. Can Saul close the deal?
- Kitty (Calista Flockhart) continues to spend time with the very simple (and handsome) handyman from Ojai ("Army Wives'" Jeremy Davidson), but she strives to answer the question, "Is it too soon after Robert's death?"
- Even Sarah's (Rachel Griffiths) young son, Cooper (10-year-old Maxwell Perry Cotton), gets into the action! They grow up so fast!
Are you prepared to say goodbye to Rebecca? Come back here after the episode, as well, and tell us what you think!
