Shannen Doherty is considered an iconic Hollywood "bad girl" of the nineties. But compared to party girls of today, like Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, the Beverly Hills, 90210 actress considers herself and her former antics relatively tame.
"I never did a sex tape," Doherty, 39, tells Parade. "I never didn't wear panties and flash a camera ... When I made a mistake, I would admit to it. These girls don't seem to see their own mistakes, much less learn from them."
The actress, who says she's "shed" her past negative reputation because today she's "kind of a different person," believes it may be more challenging for Lohan to overcome her struggles.
"It's such a horrific situation that I don't even know what to say," Doherty says of Lohan's latest jail and rehab stint. "It just seems so tragic to me. I mean Lindsay's dad giving a press conference at the end was just like, 'Oh, my god.' "
Note Doherty: "I've been acting for 29 years. My parents have never given a press conference, ever. It all seems so exploitative."
