There will be three tearful goodbyes before a winner is named on Sunday's So You Think You Can Dance Canada finale -- and we're not if sure Leah Miller can handle it.
"I know, I'm horrible," the host of the CTV reality dance-off says of her tendency to well up every time someone gets eliminated. "I'm an emotional girl."
So consider the floodgates open on Sunday's live two-hour Season 3 wrap-up, when the Top 4 dancers will be whittled down to one winner.
Competing for the grand prize -- $100,000, a Mazda 2 and the coveted title of Canada's Favourite Dancer -- are 19-year-old Mississauga, Ont., contemporary dancer Amanda Cleghorn, 25-year-old Toronto ballroom dancer Denys Drozdyuk, 20-year-old Bathurst, N.B., contemporary dancer Janick Arseneau and 22-year-old Edmonton contemporary dancer Jeff Mortensen.
All four made their last moves on Wednesday's final performance show, after which Canadian viewers cast the deciding vote. Miller, 29, gets to read the results on Sunday. Lucky girl.
"If someone is crying beside me, I can't not cry -- that's just my personality," laughs the bubbly blonde, who was a MuchMusic VJ before landing the SYTYCDC gig in 2008. "I spend a lot of time with (the dancers). This year I'm so close with them. I try to be strong, but sometimes you can't."
Even the judges, especially Jean Marc Genereux, get a little misty-eyed when they have to let someone go -- something Simon Cowell wouldn't be caught dead doing.
Are Canadian reality TV judges, like Canadians, too nice -- or is dance just an emotional sport?
"I think it's the nature of the show," Miller says. "Jean Marc does get moved by performances. When he sees a piece that moves him, he does cry, and I think that's what great about him is that he's so in touch with his emotions and dance."
Miller and the judges also get attached to the dancers, who, unlike the houseguests on Big Brother, viewers don't get to know very well personality-wise. But Miller can fill us in by saying Cleghorn is "sweet like apple pie," Mortensen has the cutest little "baby face," Drozdyuk has a "dry sense of humour" which always throws her off while she's reading from the teleprompter during rehearsals, and Arseneau is "feisty. We'll joke back and forth and people will probably look at us and think that we're fighting but we're not."
Miller's rocker husband Dallas Green can also be seen hanging around the SYTYCDC set, and has plans to attend Sunday's finale. The heavily tattooed Alexisonfire frontman doesn't seem like your typical reality TV or dance fan, but Miller says, "it's the funniest thing -- he is.
"Before I hosted this show we would watch the U.S. show and we loved it. We would sit and watch ... and we'd cry."
No, really?!
