CBS is attempting to revive the 1960s series The Wild Wild West, according to Deadline.com.
The network has tapped Battlestar Galactica developer/executive producer Ron Moore and CSI executive producer Naren Shankar to write and executive-produce the remake. The duo previously worked together on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
The original CBS action-adventure Western, which aired from 1965-1969, followed Secret Service Agents James West and Artmeus Gordon as they traveled around on their luxury train, the Wanderer, investigating crimes in post-Civil War America. Robert Conrad originated the role of West and Ross Martin played Gordon. A film adaptation starring Will Smith and Kevin Kline underwhelmed at the box office in 1999.
CBS has had recent success with another reboot, Hawaii Five-0, which was recently picked up for a full season.
