Following the ABC news division cutbacks, David Westin is taking one last journey before he departs as news president at year's end -- with Diane Sawyer on her three-day trip to China to report on the country's economic growth, returning Wednesday. An ABC rep said he's "going to China, just like he has gone on dozens of other foreign trips. This is what news presidents do, they go on reporting trips to ensure their organizations continue to have access to countries of interest to the American people. The cutbacks happened last March."
