Keith Olbermann is heading back to work….yup, already.
Following his suspension Friday for donating to three Democratic candidates, the Countdown host is heading back to his MSNBC gig Tuesday, the network announced Sunday evening.
The lightning-fast punishment period was brought on by a purported violation of NBC News' donation rules, which contain strict policies against affiliated journalists contributing to political campaigns. (Per MSNBC policy, political donations are only allowed if the person doing so has obtained permission from the president of MSNBC News.)
"I have determined that suspending Keith through and including Monday night's program is an appropriate punishment for his violation of our policy," Phil Griffin, president of MSNBC TV said in a statement. "We look forward to having him back on the air Tuesday night."
Before the news of the suspension-lift broke, Olbermann tweeted Sunday "Greetings From Exile! A quick, overwhelmed, stunned THANK YOU for support that feels like a global hug & obviously left me tweetless XO".
