The season finale of Survivor: Nicaragua skidded to a series low in the 18-to-49 demographic, posting a 4.1 preliminary rating — 7 percent below last fall's finale.
The audience for the two-hour closer dwindled throughout the broadcast, falling from 17.2 million viewers to 13.3 million. The 10:30 reunion special drew 11.2 million (3.5 18-49 rating).
Elsewhere on CBS, 60 Minutes — boosted by an 18-minute overrun of the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers football game — delivered a big 20 million viewers (4.5).
NBC's Sunday Night Football tilt between the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers gave the network its usual weekly overall win, scoring a 7.3 18-49 rating and more than 20 million viewers — although it was down considerably from last week's Philadelphia-Dallas matchup (23.7 million, 8.7 rating).
