We've had to listen to Queen Elizabeth II for decades on Christmas day.
It's about time she had to listen to one of us on New Year's Eve, wouldn't you say?
That's the premise for one of the skits on The Ron James Show: New Year's Eve Edition. It's James' fifth annual Dec. 31 extravaganza on CBC. One of James' regular characters, Aunt Vivien, records a special message for the Queen, citing the strong connection between the two of them.
As Aunt Vivien says, "We both meet life's challenges with grace and dignity. We both have extensive hat collections. And we both have promiscuous younger sisters."
Anyway, Aunt Vivien's advice has a big impact on Queen Elizabeth, who is played by guest-star Scott Thompson of The Kids in the Hall. Besides Thompson, other guest-stars on the special include musicians Ed Robertson and Kim Mitchell.
