Jon Stewart's fight for the passage of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act was not forgotten by Mayor Bloomberg. In a statement released by City Hall after the bill passed in the House and Senate yesterday, Bloomy thanked pols Chuck Schumer, Kirsten Gillibrand, Harry Reid, Mitch McConnell, Carolyn Maloney, Peter King and Jerry Nadler,and then gave a special shout-out to "great New Yorkers like Rudy Giuliani and Jon Stewart." The comic fueled national interest in the bill on "The Daily Show" by spending nine minutes of air time to attack Republican Senators who didn't support it.
