Tracy Morgan will miss at least two episodes of 30 Rock airing in March while he recovers from surgery, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
Morgan, 42, underwent a kidney transplant around Dec. 10, according to Entertainment Weekly, which first reported the news. "Tracy is doing well and taking some much needed time to recover after the surgery," a rep for the actor said. "He is looking forward to going back to work after the holidays."
30 Rock will address Morgan's absence by saying his character had a meltdown after receiving some good news. Maybe Tracy Jordan scored that Golden Globe he was hoping for?
Morgan's co-star, Grizz Chapman, who is the national spokesperson for the Kidney Foundation, also had a kidney transplant earlier this year.
