"American Idol" and FOX are launching "Idol Across America" for the 10th season. "Idol Across America" is a biodisesel-fueled mobile tour traveling to 16 U.S. cities over a four-week period, coinciding with "Idol's" premiere on Wednesday, Jan. 19.
The tour will give U.S. residents 15 years of age or older the opportunity to record their on take on the "This is 'American Idol' intro made famous by host Ryan Seacrest. They will be entered into a nationwide contest for a chance to win a trip to Hollywood and deliver the famous line onstage with Ryan. All the rules and eligibility information can be found at the "Idol" website.
Also as part of the tour, fans can participate in the "Be Your Own Idol" singing experience and pose for photos at the judges' table alongside life-size standees of Seacrest and judges Randy, Jennifer and Steven.
There will also be memorabilia on display (including platinum records, one of Ryan's suits, Carrie Underwood's finale dress and David Cook's guitar) and a special "Welcome Home" documentary about all nine winners.
