Jersey Shore's hot-blooded couple, Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro, have split up, according to Entertainment Tonight.
The pair, who got close while shooting the first season of the MTV hit in 2009, had some rocky moments along the way, including scenes in the second season that showed Ronnie in questionable situations with other women.
Still, Sammi told PEOPLE in October that her on-again-off-again boyfriend is "an all-around good guy," and they were very much a couple in the season 3 premiere, which was filmed over the summer and aired just last week.
Sammi once considered Ronnie family along with the rest of the cast, saying in October, "At the end if the day we're like a family. We all come together, so it's like one day you hate each other, but the next day you love each other."
A rep for MTV, which airs Jersey Shore, did not immediately return requests for comment.
