Rick Sanchez's Upper West Side stop on his redemption tour turned maudlin when the former CNN host started to cry. Sanchez was dumped from the network three months ago for calling Jon Stewart a "bigot" and saying the media industry is run by Jews and elites who look down on Hispanics. He tearfully told Rabbi Shmuley Boteach Thursday night at the Carlebach Synagogue, "Jon is using me as a punching bag. And I took it to heart . . . I felt like he didn't get me. My skin should have been much thicker." Sanchez claimed, "What I said had nothing to do with Stewart's Jewishness. I didn't even know he was Jewish. Just felt he was elitist." The repentant Sanchez, who wept when speaking of his own heritage, added, "I don't like being called dumb, because I'm not."

He should have never been fired. He said no slur against the Jewish people. Unfair that they call him anti-semetic. What did he say that was anti-semetic?
