PASADENA, Calif. - There's trouble in the marriage of Amy Poehler and Will Arnett, and the NFL playoffs are to blame.
Poehler - the star of the sitcom Parks and Recreation (NBC, Citytv) and a longtime cast member on Saturday Night Live - is a native of Massachusetts. So she was asked for her take on Sunday's NFL playoff game between the New England Patriots and the New York Jets.
"Well, I have a split household," said Poehler, referring to her Toronto-born husband Arnett, who has starred in the sitcoms Arrested Development and Running Wilde.
"Patriots all the way," Poehler said. "But my husband is a Jets fan. It makes Christmas awkward."
So in a mixed marriage like that, how are you raising the kids?
Poehler laughed hard and then said, "I'm going to raise my child as a hockey player, as a Leafs fan, and we'll be all set."
Poehler also was asked what it was like a few years back when Patriots quarterback Tom Brady hosted Saturday Night Live.
"It's fun having quarterbacks host because they're used to taking direction," Poehler said. "So you just say, 'Go over here, run over there, go this way', and they're like, 'Sure!' "
