Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011
Ratings for the People's Choice Awards were down compared to last year. ABC's "Modern Family" was the night's most-watched show, and thanks to improved numbers from "Law & Order: SVU," NBC actually won the night. CBS' "Live to Dance" fell a good bit from its premiere Tuesday.
NBC averaged 9.4 million viewers and a 5.9 rating/10 share among households in primetime, getting a rare nightly victory that doesn't involve an NFL game. CBS (8.9 million, 5.7/9) came in second, beating out ABC's 7.4 million viewers and 4.6/8. FOX (6.3 million, 3.8/6) came in fourth, while The CW (941,000, 0.7/1) was a non-factor with a night of reruns.
ABC and NBC tied for the lead among adults 18-49 with a 2.7 rating. CBS came in third with a 2.4. FOX's 1.7 was good for fourth, while The CW came in at 0.3.
