The Good Wife fans have seen various sides of smooth-talking young lawyer Cary Agos (Matt Czuchry). They've even seen him high on mushrooms. Viewers will get to see yet another side Tuesday when the legal drama goes behind enemy lines and shows the inner workings of the state's attorney's office.

"We wanted to show that there are no true heroes and no true villains in our universe and they are working for what they believe is right just as much as Lockhart-Gardner is," co-creator and executive producer Michelle King tells TVGuide.com.

Tuesday's case of the week — when Alicia's client confesses under duress to murdering a fellow prison inmate — will show the legal fight from Cary's and the prosecution's point of view.

"Everybody has their own struggles with the moral questions that they face," co-creator and executive producer Robert King says. "There's more confidence on the state's attorney side that they're doing the right thing. But are they doing the right thing? How much does he have to be a strategic mover and shaker to get things done?"

The behind-the-scenes look at one of Lockhart-Gardner's biggest and most frequent opponents comes at an interesting time. Much buzz has been building about Cary's future ever since Diane (Christine Baranski) asked him to rejoin the firm.

"With Cary, what we've learned is his sense of maturity. Losing the competition humbled him ... So I think all those things are going to be important," Czuchry says. "Whether he goes back to the firm or not, he has to take all that he's learned with him and that will keep it new and interesting and fresh."

With the election for state's attorney's office heating up and Cary's boss, Glenn Childs, possibly on his way out, Season 2 would be the time for him to return to Diane and Will (Josh Charles). "I don't think the decision has been made, but I do think it's a possibility either way," he adds about the possible job move.

He may not be on the Lockhart-Gardner payroll, but Cary is also about to get involved in one of the firm's messiest intra-office battles — involving Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) and Blake (Scott Porter)."There's going to be an ongoing investigation with Kalinda and Blake, and I think that Cary has obviously shown which side he's on, which is Kalinda's and not Blake's," Czuchry says. "So there will be a couple more scenes starting in Tuesday night's episode with Blake and with Cary."

Following Cary's unceremonious exit from the firm last spring, his growing friendship with Kalinda has been a pleasant surprise both to fans and to the characters themselves.

"He's proven he's a great lawyer, and Kalinda's watched him get better and better," Panjabi says. "They develop a friendship and you realize they have more in common than they first thought. Cary gets involved because the state's attorney's office is investigating something and they strike up a friendship which kind of has an interesting story to it."
