Fast National ratings for Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011
"American Idol" dipped slightly from its ratings last week, but it was still plenty strong enough to carry FOX to a ratings win Thursday night. CBS and ABC drew fairly typical ratings, while NBC's comedy lineup fell some.
FOX averaged just under 16 million viewers and an 8.8 rating/14 share in households for the night, topping CBS (13.6 million, 8.2/13) by more than 2 million viewers. ABC (8.7 million, 5.3/8) came in third. NBC was a somewhat distant fourth with 4.7 million viewers and a 2.8/4. The CW delivered 2.8 million people and a 1.6/3.
FOX's lead among adults 18-49 was wider. It scored a 5.4 rating in the demographic, well ahead of ABC and CBS, which tied for second at 3.1. NBC drew a 2.3 and The CW a 1.2.
