{alltv} 'Son of a Gun' first look: Meet Cory Gunz, Lil' Wayne protégé and MTV reality star

Cory Gunz hasn't had much luck with his last two record deals, but on his third and possibly final shot, MTV has their cameras rolling to capture all the trials and tribulations along the way.

The rapping son of formerly famous Peter Gunz, Cory hopes to take his career to levels his father could never reach. Previously signed to both Casablanca and Def Jam, the young rapper must decide which record label to go to next, all while dealing with the blurred lines between family, friends and business.

"Cory's story is inspiring, one that boldly paints the many trials and tribulations he's had to endure in pursuit of his dreams," says executive producer Nick Cannon. "I'm grateful for the access that Cory and Peter allowed us to have in order to create a series that we feel will really resonate with MTV viewers."

"Nick is my big brother now, for real," Cory says. "He's opening doors for me, giving me opportunities in and out of the studio. It's about to be ugly."

Currently, Gunz is signed to Lil' Wayne's Young Money and is featured on his single "6 Foot 7 Foot."
