We guess it works both ways on NBC's "The Voice." Kelsey Rey felt that her good looks kept her from being taken seriously. Poor thing. But, Jeff Jenkins' looks aren't your typical pop star and really showed what the blind auditions can do for someone who may be counted out on looks alone.
The big guy worked it out on Rascal Flatts' "Bless The Broken Road." Coaches Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green both turned around first and together. Christina Aguilera soon followed. But, wow, Blake Shelton - who we'd expect to be the first to turn around on Jeff's sound - took his sweet time. Yet, in the end that makes four and all the coaches really wanted Jeff. How great must that feel?
Cee Lo said he could hear the heart in Jeff's singing. And while Christina didn't actually turn around first, she told him that his "voice triggered [her] instincts like that. [snaps]"
But, what we think it came down to is how much Jeff believed the coaches wanted him. And while Blake would seem the most logical match for Jeff's style, Adam didn't even try to act coy: He really wanted him on his team. So, Jeff went where he was really wanted and picked the Maroon 5 frontman.
And we are just happy to see someone who doesn't fit the mold, yet has all the talent in the world, hold all the power when it comes to his career for a change.
Isn't Jeff what this show is all about?
