Former Chicago Hope and Sons of Anarchy star Adam Arkin will guest-star on the upcoming season of The Closer, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
Arkin will play Steven Hirschbaum, a Bernie Madoff-like businessman who is convicted in a massive federal fraud trial and is being sued by the former employees and investors from whom he stole. The question troubling Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (Kyra Sedgwick): Just how far will those angry investors go to exact their revenge?
This marks Arkin's first appearance on The Closer — at least in front of the camera. He directed an episode in 2009.
Besides playing white separatist gang leader Ethan Zobelle on Sons of Anarchy and as Dr. Aaron Shutt on Chicago Hope, Arkin, 54, has starred on such shows as Life and 8 Simple Rules. He has also guest-starred on Monk, The West Wing and, most recently, The Chicago Code — a role he will reprise in that show's season finale.
The Closer returns Monday, July 11 at 9/8c on TNT. Arkin's episode, "To Serve with Love," does not yet have an airdate.
