To borrow from a certain "American Idol" judge, Chelsea Kane is in it to win it, America!
Chelsea and her professional partner Mark Ballas performed a near-flawless waltz on "Dancing With the Stars" on Monday, May 9.
Despite partner troubles during rehearsals, a heart-to-heart helped Chelsea and Mark to conquer the waltz. Mark said after their performance, "I want Chelsea to shine. I want to be the frame and she's the art." Too. Cute.
We thought this was Chelsea's most mature and sophisticate performance to date on the show and we were convinced they were going to be the first couple to score a perfect 30 this season. What did the judges have to say about Chelsea and Mark's waltz?
Len Goodman: "I think occasionally you put too much emphasis on the story and not enough on the dance, so the story becomes a big deal. It becomes a bit theatrical. It was very musical, it had a lovely lyrical feel to it.
Bruno Tonioli: "You finally found the perfect setting to let Chelsea shine like a precious jewel. That was dancing of the highest quality. The contemporary touches were exquisite, yet it was a timeless waltz."
Carrie Ann Inaba: "Tonight something very different happened. You brought out a whole new mature, sophisticated, you look like you added dimension to your dancing. You earned perfection tonight."
Carrie and Bruno scored the couple with 10s, while Len awarded them with a 9. Chelsea and Mark are the first couple to score two 10s this season.
