She's been one of the most-talked about contestants in "Dancing With the Stars" history, so don't expect the conversation to change just because she didn't win.
Kirstie Alley seems noticeably rejuvenated by the series. And when Zap2it and other press met with her on the ballroom floor just after she finished second, she explained how its changed her.
"It's rallied me alive again," she says. "It gave me a new view of what I want to do with my life. It mad me see that I can work really hard for what I want. The sweetness would be the ultimate win, but I could tell you a thousand wins that I've had in this."
Partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy, who's never won the title despite likely being the most famous pro on the series, is a little more dejected by the loss.
"I've been on that plane before in the same conditions," he says of the flight to New York the final three board right after the taping. His partner
"He had a long way to go with me," Kirstie says of Maks. "There were a lot of things, there were a lot of situations, and he pulled it off. I wish we would have won. I wish he would have won. But what evolved from day one, it's almost impossible."
"I feel like we did amazing and that's an amazing thing," she added, before being rushed away, "but you want to win. And I didn't win. We didn't win. So I can't say that I don't have any sadness about it. But that will probably change really fast when I drink a bottle of wine."
