{alltv} Dancing With the Stars: Was Tonight's Cut the Deepest?

It's almost semifinals time on Dancing With the Stars.

Next week, four celebs will hoof it out for a slot in the three-team finale. Sure, it's exciting, but it means that Kirstie Alley, Chelsea Kane, Ralph Macchio, Romeo or Hines Ward was booted tonight.

And that's just a shame, considering how far they've come and how we could see any one of them hoisting the mirror-ball trophy.

Without further ado, it's time to say goodbye to...

Romeo and Chelsie Hightower, and that totally sucks.

"We went out with a bang, you know, that's the most fun I had in my life yesterday," the 22-year-old said of his tango and salsa routines, which (in our opinion) were scored far less generously than they deserved.

"This show has changed my life forever," he continued. "I was terrified of dancing. I didn't dance at my own prom, I turned down a lot of movies because I was terrified of dancing...I think I showed kids, anything is possible if you try."

He certainly showed his dad, rap mogul and horrendous dancer Master P, what's what.

Chelsea and Mark Ballas, who would have had the season's first 30—instead of the season's first 29—if Len Goodman didn't have a bone to pick with Mark's well-intentioned yet ill-advised attempts to tell a sweeping story when they dance, at least earned a trip to the semifinals for their efforts.

BTW, doesn't it seem as if there were oodles of 30s at this stage of the game in earlier seasons?

Anyway...Kirstie, who snagged her first 10 of the season last night with her oh-so-saucy Argentine tango (someone please explain again why they don't just lift the whole lift embargo), was ushered to safety within the show's first 10 minutes along with Hines Ward.

No muss, no fuss.

Ralph, who's been saddled with a bum knee since suffering a burst cyst, literally limped into the semis—though whether he gets better and doesn't make us lament Romeo's absence remains to be seen.

And speaking of ailments, Adele was a bit under the weather and having issues with her "higher register," according to Tom Bergeron, so Michael Bolton's duet partner Delta Goodrem stepped in on "Natural Woman," Adele's first scheduled song of the night.

Adele made good use of her low register later on, however, when she took the stage to sing "Rolling in the Deep."
