FOX has opened this year's series order season with three pick-ups.
On the drama side, the network has picked up the "Bones" spin-off "The Finder" and J.J. Abrams' time-travel series "Alcatraz," Deadline reports. "The New Girl," a comedy starring Zooey Deschanel, was also picked up.
"The Finder," which is based on Richard Greener's "The Locator" book series, stars Geoff Stults and Michael Clarke Duncan and is from "Bones" creator Hart Hanson. "Alcatraz" is a crime drama set at the country's most infamous prison and follows an investigative team looking into the disappearance of its '60s inhabitants. The project reteams Abrams with "Lost" star Jorge Garcia.
"The New Girl" stars Deschanel as an elementary school teacher whose unlucky when it comes to love. She movies in with three unruly guys after splitting with her boyfriend. Jake M. Johnson, Max Greenfield, Hannah Simone and Damon Wayans Jr co-star in the Liz Meriwether project.
