Seth MacFarlane continues his animation domination: Fox has renewed Family Guy and The Cleveland Show, the network announced Monday.
"For nine seasons, our viewers have been cracked up, delighted, surprised and, at times, gloriously disturbed by the mind of Seth MacFarlane — and they keep coming back for more," Fox President of Entertainment Kevin Reilly said. "The Griffins and the Browns have become cornerstones of our Sunday nights, and we can't wait to find out what new adventures Seth, Mike and Rich cook up for them next season."
Family Guy, which was once canceled by Fox, has been picked up for Season 10. The ninth season, which has been averaging 7.23 million viewers, will finish off on Sunday, May 22 with a special one-hour episode. "Episode VI: It's a Trap" is the final installment of the three-part Star Wars satire. Anne Hathaway and Carrie Fisher are among the celebrities who will lend their voices to the special.
The Cleveland Show, currently averaging 5.76 million viewers in its second season, has been renewed for a fourth season. Fox announced a Season 3 pickup last June. The Season 2 finale will air Sunday, May 15.
There was no announcement about MacFarlane's other animated show, American Dad!, which is currently in its sixth season, but it had already been renewed to run through the 2011-2012 season.
