The two American Idol finalists - Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina - have been cleared to accept some nice cash for their winning ways.
A Los Angeles judge on Monday approved a contract for McCreery, 17 and a minor, that will pay him $250,000 for winning and recording his first album.
Judge Marjorie Steinberg on Monday approved the same contract for Lauren Aliana, reports AP. Because she placed second, she'll receive an $87,500 advance. The amount will double if she records an album.
Courts must approve agreements for entertainers under the age of 18. The Idol finale was the first one in which the two finalsts were under 18.
