{alltv} "I Fell in Love," Says American Idol Winner Scotty McCreery

The Hollywood rumor mill was running wild after American Idol runner-up Lauren Alaina showered Scotty McCreery with kisses after he was crowned the season 10 winner Wednesday night. Although the two denied they are anything more than just best friends, when we caught up with Scotty Thursday morning, he said he's fallen in love!

So what's the deal with Scotty's heart going pitter-patter, and is he really as hot as his nickname "Scotty the Body" would indicate?

Now that he's the newest American Idol, Scotty McCreery can certainly have his pick of the ladies and is sure to be inundated with crushing girls hoping for a chance to catch his eye. Unfortunately for them, they'll have to wait because Scotty's heart is centered on his newest love, his first single, "I Love You This Big."

The morning after winning the title of American Idol, Scotty's single has shot to the top of the iTunes chart securing the No. 1 spot, and we were on the phone with him to hear his reaction to the news.

"Is it, really?" he asked in disbelief when he was told about his single's success. "That is amazing. That is wild. I love the song. The song is a great song to start off with. I mean when they pitched it to me I fell in love with it and last night when I sang it at the finale it was kind of a choked-up performance, but I got to hug my family, and that's really amazing that it's No. 1."

Throughout the season of American Idol, Scotty was affectionately referred to as "Scotty the Body" after being given the nickname by host Ryan Seacrest. Girls have gone wild over his cute country looks, but when asked, Scotty says he might not be able to live up to the nickname until he eases up on all the goodies he's been privy to.

"Ryan told me early on [the nickname] was kind of a tradition with all the Scott's he's had on the show," he said. "It was more like a joke. I've been eating too many cookies on the show anyway. I'm not as toned as I was back in my baseball days, but I don't know, 'Scotty the Body,' we're always joking about that one."

If anything, Scotty is thankful for the support and says he hasn't had to deal with random people coming out of the woodwork claiming they're friends since coming on the show. In fact, his emotional breakdown during his hometown visit was due to his high school family making him feel so loved.

"They were all my friends before," he said. "We're all a big Garner High School family. I mean I got to talk to a lot of them that I didn't get a chance to talk to before and you know how that goes, but it was a lot of fun to get there and talk to them all. I don't know about new friends, we were all a pretty tight-knit family before I left out here for Hollywood."
