NBC is turning up the volume on The Voice.
The singing competition will expand to two-hour live episodes beginning Tuesday, June 7 at 9/8c following America's Got Talent, the network announced Thursday.
The Voice began its battle rounds this week in which each coach -- Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green or Blake Shelton -- pitted two of his/her singers against each other. Pairs performed the same song as a duet in front of an audience, and afterward one was immediately eliminated. The battle rounds will run through May 31.
The live rounds in June will consist of the strongest remaining members of each coach's roster, going up against the other team's top singers in live stage shows. The audience at home will vote to advance one person from each team. From the final four, one will be named "The Voice," sign a recording contract and receive $100,000.
In its first three weeks on the air, The Voice has averaged 11.8 million viewers.
