Grab your crazy-big hats and mint juleps — it's Derby Day!
The Kentucky Derby, the first leg in the race for the Triple Crown, will be broadcast live from Churchill Downs on Saturday starting at 4 pm/ET/1 pm/PT on NBC with a preshow and red carpet special. (The race itself is scheduled to begin at 6:24 pm/ET/3:24 pm/PT.) Wrap-up coverage of the big event will finish on HRTV. (Check your local listings for details.)
The race, also known as "The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports," kicks off the race for the Triple Crown, which also includes the Preakness Stakes and the Belmont Stakes. Fewer than a dozen horses have attained that honor.
Will you be tuning into the Kentucky Derby?
