Somewhere out there is the next Justin Bieber. He's 17, you know -- he can't last forever.
Bieber-esque dreams clearly were on the minds of the 4,000 Canadian kids who auditioned this year to be part of The Next Star. The reality-competition series returns for its fourth season Monday on YTV.
The first three episodes of the new season take place during those nationwide auditions for singing hopefuls aged 15 and under. Later, when the competition has been pared to six finalists, each of the remaining participants will record an original song to be featured on a Next Star compilation album.
Adamo Ruggiero, formerly of Degrassi: The Next Generation, returns as host. Musician Suzie McNeil, marketing executive Steve Cranwell and songwriter and former VJ Christopher Ward are back to serve as mentors, guides and judges.
Watch your back, Biebs.
