George R.R. Martin, author of the fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire, hopes he can conclude it in a satisfactory manner with his final two novels.
During a Thursday Comic-Con panel for Game of Thrones, an HBO series based on Martin's books, an audience member alluded to some fan dissatisfaction with the ending of Lost when asking Martin about plans for the conclusion of his seven-book series.
"I hope I can bring it together in the magnificent way I see it in my head," he said. At the same time, "I'm juggling a lot of balls. I fear some may fall on my head and kill me."
Martin praised Tolkien's Lord of the Rings for its "bittersweet ending," adding, "I hope I can do something half as good."
