Of all the emotions ever thrown the way of Simon Cowell by the American Idol contestants, pity is probably not one of them. Until now.
"I feel bad for Simon. I really do," Siobhan Magnus told us after last night's show, in which the King of Mean called her performance "a bit wet."
Why?
According to Siobhan—who wasn't quite sure what Simon meant by "wet," either—the tight-shirted Brit has it the worst of all the judges.
"I think it's tough on Simon," Siobhan tells us. "He's the last one at the end of the line and he's gotta think of something. I feel bad for the guy, really."
And, well, you gotta love the girl's chutzpah. While other Idol contenders might be reduced to tears at a seemingly off-putting comment by the show's biggest voice of authority (despite his placement in line, he so clearly is), Siobhan just racks it up to Cowell running out of words.
Interesting note? Simon also called last season's American Idol winner Kris Allen "wet" during Jamie Foxx week. So maybe Siobhan's right to just shrug it off. (Simon did explain "wet" last night by saying "as if you were in a musical acting out the words.")
Just another example of Siobhan's quirky and endearing confidence. It's kept her around this long, and she told us she really isn't worrying about going home. "It doesn't do any good to get all worked up about it," Siobhan explains. "We just do our thing on Tuesday night and then we're ecstatic that were done and kind of just take a mental break for a while. [We] come back on Wednesday and whatever happens, happens."
Meanwhile, for those of you wondering about Crystal Bowersox's choice of Shania Twain's "No One Needs to Know", which she hinted was intended to put pressure on her boyfriend to marry her, Crystal explained: "Tony's my hunky boyfriend. He's a great father and I've been putting a lot of pressure on him. We poke fun at each other and kind of play jokes and I told him that I was gonna embarrass him on the show. He's a sweet guy."
And despite last night's less-than-favorable reviews from the judges, Crystal isn't worried, either. "I feel good," she told us. "I felt like I had a good performance and I had a good time with it. The musicians up on the stage with me. It wasn't a big song so I couldn't sing it big! It's a sweet little love song and that's how I feel I delivered it."
Who do you think will be sent home tonight? Could either of these girls be on the chopping block? If not, who?
