Poison frontman and current Celebrity Apprentice contestant Bret Michaels remains in critical condition after suffering a brain hemorrhage last Thursday. Michaels is being treated in an undisclosed hospital and remains in the ICU under 24 hour supervision. Apprentice costar Sharon Osbourne said yesterday that Michaels was in good condition when she last saw him.
"It's just hideous," Osbourne told reporters at the NBC Summer Press Day. "It's devastating. Your heart goes out to his family, your heart goes out to him. He's the nicest guy in the world. And then you start thinking about your own mortality. It just makes you appreciate how lucky we all are."
TV Guide Magazine spoke with Michaels at the beginning of his Celebrity Apprentice stint, which he said was "much, much harder than I anticipated." Michaels, a lifelong diabetic, stressed the importance of playing for his charity, the Bret Michaels' Foundation, to help kids with diabetes.
"It's a life-threatening disease," Michaels said. "And I've proven that you can beat the odds, but also live the life you want to live, as long as you're willing to go the extra mile."
