Oscar and Tony winner Marcia Gay Harden has joined Royal Pains for a multi-episode arc.
Harden, 50, will play Dr. Elizabeth Blair, a surgeon and board member of Hamptons Heritage Hospital, where Dr. Jill Casey (Jill Flint) works. The two women initially butt heads over Casey's tenure as hospital administrator, but Blair eventually becomes Casey's mentor.
Harden, who played attorney Claire Maddox on Damages last year, will make her Royal debut on the show's Season 2 premiere, slated for June 3.
Harden's casting was first reported by Entertainment Weekly.
