This summer, the Faceman — along with a flock of other '80s icons — has cometh again. As The A-Team and The Karate Kid remakes ricochet and roundhouse their way across movie screens — mashing the MacGyver-spoofing MacGruber in their wake — time is ripe for revisiting what made the originals so memorable: the fashions, of course. USA TODAY looks at where mullets, Mohawks and other motifs of the era are now.

MacGyver

The mullet: After a period of relative dormancy — save for the pates of Minnesota Viking Jared Allen and a few Brooklyn hipsters — the secret agent's bi-level hairstyle made a glam return last week on Adam Lambert with the premiere of his If I Had You video.

The bomber jacket: The brown leather jacket of Angus MacGyver (and '80s jocks) had seemingly been retired to the Members Only closet — until President Obama wore one in March while addressing the troops in Afghanistan.

The Karate Kid

The bandana: The hair accessory of choice for Daniel and the Cobra Kai alike, the fabric strip is in the midst of a veritable renaissance, anchoring the heads of Bret Michaels and a good chunk of the NBA.

The shiny jacket: Johnny's slick red Thriller-esque jacket? Look no further than Glee's Sue Sylvester for how to sport a modern model. British alt-rocker Matt Bellamy, Muse frontman and rumored paramour of Kate Hudson, is also known to perform in one.

The A-Team

The Mohawk: During the '80s, BA Baracus's symmetrical hair strip begat a bevy of copycats. A decade later, mixed martial arts maestro Chuck Liddell revived the linear look. During the early '00s, David Beckham helped make the milder fauxhawk a follicular fad. Now, Johnny Damon (among other Major Leaguers) is adorning himself with the dorsal-fin 'do. Eagle-eyed Real Housewives of New York City watchers will notice BA's original business-on-the-sides, party-on-top style atop the dome of Countess LuAnn de Lesseps' music producer.

Gold chains: Sure, BA's very heavy metal armored many a rap star during the '00s, but hip-hop culture has since shed most of its necklaces and adopted a preppier persona. Besides, during the height of the recession last year, Karl Lagerfeld declared bling dead.

Black Chucks: Murdock always shod his soles in black Converse All-Stars high tops. The little black dress of casual kicks, the sneakers remain footwear mainstays for everyone from Mischa Barton to Madonna.
