Diminutive actors Joel Grey ("Cabaret") and Bob Balaban ("Gosford Park") were in a long, eye-level conversation at the opening of the "Other as Animal" show at the Danese Gallery in Chelsea the other night. Balaban was approached by fellow art lover John Norwood, who said: "You might remember me. I used to date your cousin." Balaban replied: "I thought you looked familiar. Well, I hope you dated her before she got married!" Also on hand: artists Chuck Close, Eric Fischl and April Gornik, plus actor-producer Griffin Dunne.
