Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is moving its production out of New Jersey after the state suspended certain tax incentives, a source close to the production tells TVGuide.com.
SVU, which formerly made NBC's Central Archives in North Bergen, N.J., its home, is looking to relocate to Chelsea Piers in New York City, where Law & Order was filmed.
Tamara Tunie, whose SVU character was last seen in peril in the season finale, spoke out in favor of keeping the 20 percent tax incentive, according to Deadline Hollywood, which first reported the news.
The bill to eliminate the tax incentives, which was proposed by N.J. Governor Chris Christie, is expected to pass on Monday.
